Behold, the tardigrade! Smaller than a grain of sand, this creature is one tough cookie. It can withstand subzero temperatures, scalding heat, searing radiation, and outer space extremes. And it can skip food or water for years. It’s cute too, thus it’s affectionately called a water bear. It’s the mascot for resilience – theme of this edition of RESEARCH magazine.
